Ingrid Riollot was born in France. She started learning music at 6 years old and classical guitar at 8 with Isabelle RégisTouvron who gave her the passion and the love for the guitar. She graduated from the National Conservatory of Music in Lyon (France) where she studied with Jesus Castro-Balbi and Marc Franceries. She earned all the distinctions with the highest rewards and received a “Special Prize” from The Philharmonique Society given to the youngest talented graduates. She continued her post-graduated studies in Barcelona under Ricardo Gallen. She holds all of the French pedagogy diplomas. As a student she participated in masterclasses with Joaquin Clerch, Marco Tamayo, Gérard Abiton, Costas Cotsiolis, Eric Franceries, Alberto Ponce.

Ingrid Riollot gives masterclasses and sits on juries all over the world. Ingrid Riollot taught for 20 years in French Conservatories Albertville, Nancy, L’Haÿ-Lès-Roses, Montbéliard where she was the head of the guitar studies and in Geneva, Switzerland.

Since 2018 Ingrid and Damon Smallman give lecture demonstrations about history, construction and design of Smallman guitars. The lectures also demonstrate comparative listening methods in order to quantify musical qualities of a guitar and how to alter the sound after the guitar is built.

Since 2019, she is dedicating her time performing, giving masterclasses and being part of jury competitions.

Currently, she plays on a 2017 Smallman & Sons Guitar. She is sponsored by Savarez Compagny. She is the godmother of Mauritius Classical Guitar Society. She is President of the French Guitar Society. She lives in Australia and France.
