10th GCC ONLINE INTERNATIONAL GUITAR COMPETITION, 2021

POSTED ON 2021-09-22 20:52 | BY GCC

The purpose of the competition is to identify outstanding musical talent, and to provide them with performance opportunities. The jury consists of national and international musicians, scholars, and experts. The jury will seek to identify the most promising musical performers who demonstrate all around excellence in musicianship, technique and performing ability.
As in 2020, the ongoing covid restrictions mean that this year’s competition will continue as an online, pre-recorded video competition, which is open to competitors of any nationality. Competitors must participate in the group corresponding with their birth date.
There is a change of format for the artist group competition this year. Instead of awarding first, second and third prizes, three players will be selected as Young Guitar Artists of Changsha 2021. They will each receive the same cash prize of US$3,000 plus an invitation to come and perform in person at a future edition of the Changsha Festival, sponsored by the GCC Organising Committee (to include a fee for playing the concert, a travel allowance and free room and board).
